Deploy24

Deploy24 was the second annual convening of leaders from across the clean energy ecosystem with the mission to accelerate the deployment of critical energy and decarbonization technologies in the United States. The conference took place on December 4 and 5, 2024 in Washington D.C. and brought together over 1,700 clean energy leaders for more than 100 hours of programming. I was the creative director for Deploy24 and its predecessor, Deploy23, leading everything from brand development to environmental graphics, website design, video production, and more. You can read about the results of the conference here and watch a highlights video below.

The Deploy logo centers on a stylized CO2 molecule, which provides the starting point for a complete system of animated icons and graphic lines and shapes. These are paired with a clean, monolinear typeface, Poppins, to create a world that feels modular, adaptable, and full of possibility.

The color palette marries industrial greys with nature-inspired blues and greens. For The Exchange, a new part of the 2024 program dedicated to networking and showcasing innovative technologies, I introduced a fun pop of hot pink.

The brand ID is a nod to the increasing emphasis on standardization and modularity in clean energy technologies, from nuclear reactors to advanced grid solutions, as well as the need for greater connectivity, nimbleness, and knowledge-sharing across the energy ecosystem.

From developing the brand identity, my role branched out into setting the creative tone for Deploy across all digital, print, and environmental products. I created marketing collateral, co-designed the website and conference app, designed swag, and developed slide templates for our 249 speakers to use. Working closely with the event production company MC2 and the 3d masterminds at Synthesis Design, I created art for the entire environmental and wayfinding system. This included extensive signage, two giant floor maps, 30 kiosks for cleantech companies to showcase their work, the ~40x20’ main stage, and three smaller stages. Two of my favorite projects: creating this fun interactive map that invited attendees to show us where their clean energy projects were happening, and and co-writing and directing the video that opened the conference.
