Innovation Hub

The Arkansas Innovation Hub is a nonprofit maker’s space and training facility dedicated to expanding opportunity for Arkansans. There, children and adults can learn skills ranging from coding and graphic design to screen-printing and woodwork. I partnered with Never Whisper Justice to design and illustrate a promotional video that showcases their programs and impact.

Developing the “look” for this video was an interesting challenge. The Hub wanted a three-way marriage between “industrial chic,” high-tech, and art/design. We went through several cycles of design development before settling on this aesthetic, which feels like a mix of pop art, screen printing, and rustic doodles. The illustrations are hand-drawn and combined with simple, textured shapes and processed cut-out images of the Hub’s stunning architectural features.
