Regenerative Agriculture
Climate expert Jock Gilchrist hired me to design and illustrate his report on regenerative agriculture, aimed at policymaking and farming communities across the US and around the world. Regenerative agriculture harnesses natural processes and systems to improve soil health and increase food production. It also captures carbon in the soil, making it a critical tool in our arsenal for fighting climate change.
“I spent a year writing a 40,000 word research paper, and the final step was turning the ‘wall of text’ into something that would appeal to readers. Jock wanted an eye-catching design, optimized for online viewing, that would present regenerative agriculture as both approachable and cutting-edge. Together, we developed a design based on the rhythms and imagery of the farming year. The cover and divider pages are split into twelve boxes, representing the twelve months. Illustrations of crops, livestock, and wildlife suggest diversity, abundance, and a return to more holistic ways of working with land.
